Korean digital contents leap forward to the world

Seoul, Korean / SEA PRWire / Oct 28, 2020 / The Ministry of Science and ICT (Minister Ki-young Choi, hereinafter referred to as ‘MSICT’) held the opening ceremoney with the Korea Mobile Internet Business Association (Chairman Koh Jean, hereinafter referred to as ‘MOIBA’) for ‘Digital Content Korea Online Expo 2020(dckoreaexpo.kr)’ at COEX Grand Ballroom, Seoul, at 14:00 on Wednesday, October 21st.

On this day, the opening ceremony was conducted by relaying the site in real time to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and following a congratulatory speech by Gyeong-hee Song, Software Policy Officer of the MSICT, Won-wook Lee, chairman of the Science and Technology Information Broadcasting and Communication Commission, and influential people from the country and abroad sent congratulations to the opening of the ‘Digital Content Korea Online Expo 2020’.

Following the opening ceremony, MOIBA(Chairman Koh Jean) signed a multilateral business agreement (MOU) to support the advancement of domestic digital contents companies to overseas market with Korea Virtual Augmented Reality Association (Chairman Hoon-bae Kim), Korea Edutech Industry Association (Chairman Gil-ho Kim), Korea Artificial Intelligence Association (Chairman Hyun-cheol Kim).

Through this agreement, the four organizations agreed to cooperate with each other on supporting domestic digital content companies to advance into emerging markets, supporting and promoting overseas expansion, establishing mutual beneficial cooperation system, policy coordination for the development of the digital content industry, etc.

Subsequently, programs such as live seminars, live IR pitching, non-face-to-face conferences, and exhibition hall experiences were simultaneously conducted, and the event was broadcasted live through the YouTube channel in real time.

The live seminar session held panel discussions and lectures by fire experts from industry, academia, and research institutes related to digital content under the theme of ‘How to revitalize the digital content industry’.

Non-face-to-face conferences and live IR pitching were held for overseas VCs and buyers at the booth in the event venue, and participants had time to actually experience the VR exhibition hall through the exhibition hall experience area.

In addition, overseas promotion was carried out through joint cooperation with the overseas partners, Russian Electronic Communication Association(RAEC) and Dubai Technology Founding Center(DTEC), and we are actively promoting overseas promotion activities by providing information through the use of VR booths from VR exhibition on advancing into emerging markets, etc.

This ‘Digital Content Korea Online Expo 2020’ will be held for two weeks starting October 21st, and supports 50 promising digital contents companies in Korea such as non-face-to-face solution, VR/AR Fintech, Edutech, IoT, AI, etc. to advance into emerging markets like Southern Markets, Northern Markets, Middle Eastern Markets, etc.

MOIBA Chairman Koh Jean said, “Through this event, we hope that Korean digital content companies can turn the crisis caused by COVID-19 into an opportunity, and we will do our best to create practical results.”
